Located in Shanklin, a few steps from Shanklin Beach, shoreside inn has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. We really enjoyed our stay. Andy and Jo made us feel very welcome. The room was wonderful: it was spacious and very nicely decorated; the bed was extremely comfy, the bathroom well equipped and it was all very clean and it looked brand new. We had a seaview room with great direct view on the beach/sea just across the street. The breakfast was a big treat: an extensive menu with also a daily special, all deliciously cooked by Jo. Good carpark at the back of the hotel. Very much recommended!

Been coming to Isle of Wight for for years and this time was lovely to stay in a well run guest house and have a sea view room to watch the sun rise.
Shanklin is a great base for visits on the Isle of Wight. Driving was a challenge for this American - the country lanes are very narrow - hard to think they're two-way streets! - but that's the norm for this country in many places. And it was worth it. So many beautiful places, starting with the old village of Shanklin with its thatched roofs, and lush, tropical Shanklin Chine, then on to the sailing center of Cowes, Steephill Cove and the Botanical Gardens, Queen Victoria's home at Osborne House, the Needles, drives through green-cloaked downs and tunnels formed by overarching trees and so much more. And I have to add a note about dining - fine dining at Thompson,The Little Gloster, The Grill and Morgans among a long list of excellent IOW restaurants.
The most picturesque and beautiful place! We adored it. After touring the whole Isle of Wight, we felt we had picked the perfect place with easy location to everywhere, the best sunrises imagineable, just enough restaurants to suit us the nights we stayed close to home but close enough to other culinary delights in neighbouring towns to not require huge travel time. Lots to do. Check out the huge variety of shows at Shanklin theatre which was superb as well as so many amazing things to do and see. We absolutely love it here and will be back.
Castle Lodge Guest House (where I was staying) is actually located in the village of Carisbrooke, which is just outside the town of Newport. The main reason for my visit on this occasion was to take part in the Autumn Walking Festival. Because of this and therefore visiting other parts of the Isle of Wight, I didn't spend very much time visiting Newport itself. However, it's a pleasant town. In reality, I would probably grade it half-way between 'OK' and 'Great'. It is easy getting to other parts of the Isle of Wight from Newport, as bus routes generally radiate from here. I didn't eat in Newport, as there was an excellent pub much nearer where I was staying.
Sandown is lovely.it has wonderfull long beaches, dog friendly and good promenade walks very suitable for the less agile, the walk along prom from sandown to shanklin would suit anyone in a wheelchair or moility scooter.Plenty of shops for groceries and lovely quaint gift shops, cafes etc.Shanklin being a mile or 2 along the coast is just beautifull any time of year,If your not driving the buses go all the scenic routes along the coast with amazing views to be seen. For walkers id recommend walking up the cliff towards yaverland up to culver down where the views are terrific. You can drive up to culver down if the hill is too much.At late night if you drive up to the car park at culver down and look up at the sky,you can see the entire universe it seems, only on a clear night, even with the naked eye..the whole of the isle of wight is in my opinion an island paradise.!!
East Cowes - and the rest of the Isle of Wight - is simply charming and exudes history at every turn. This was our second visit there and we will be back again. Be sure to visit Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle. Even if you're not a history buff, you will love them. The people here are simply lovely!
Places to visit include: The Needles - Monkey Haven - Isle of Wight Zoo - the bus service is superb and covers the whole island - a weekly ticket costs £24 and is well worth the money - lots of reasonable places to eat - we didn't get to Amazon World, Butterfly Haven or the steam train but we'll pick that up on our next visit
The ferry to the Isle of Wight is uncomfortable, very expensive, and unreliable. I only visited one pub, and found a barman complaining about the Scots, all EU citizens, the euro, ... I hope rather than expect that he was not typical of the locals. I was there for 4 days, and felt ripped-off by almost everyone. I did not have one good meal in a restaurant, but did get the worst coffee anyone has ever served me. I will not return.
Freshwater has a bit of everything including a few surprises. Dinosaurs, beaches, Roman Villas, Botanical Gardens. All within a short distance and easy to get to. Don't miss Military Road and Alum Bay. The entire Isle of Wight is a treasure.
A delightful little village that was the base for visiting other sites on the Isle of Wight. It was easy to get to busses and the train as well as walks to pubs and places to eat.
Shanklin
This holiday was for our daughter and two children visiting us at our Isle of Wight home. The Aparthotel was very well situated near our apartment. It was spacious for a group of three and very well appointed, particularly the kitchen. It had been immaculately prepared and provisioned. Access to the indoor facilities at the sister hotel, Luccombe Hall, was an unexpected bonus, particularly as the weather wasn’t at its best!
The location of the hotel is strategic, walking distance to both, pier and town centre. The bus stop as a mere 1min walk and plenty of options to eat in and around the hotel. The hotel staff was very accommodating for getting us a baby cot and also allowed us to keep our luggage in the hotel on the day of our checkout. A very comfortable hotel to stay in Isle of Wight with excellent services.
Brading
Another great stay at Mulberry Lawn Apartments. This was our second visit to the apartments and we loved it all over again!! Great hosts and very welcoming! A great apartment with everything we needed and we just love the isle of wight. A brilliant week away and I'm sure we will revisit again as we couldn't wish for a better place to stay and holiday. Thanks again Hugh & Kate
The Burlington Hotel is an ideal location to use as a base for sightseeing around the Isle of Wight and it's cheap & cheerful which is a bonus! Some nice restaurants on the sea front.. Didn't try the food in the hotel as was just somewhere to get our head down.. We didn't go for it but loved that they offer packed lunches if you wanted too! Staff were nice and helpful.
Sandown
The apartment was ideally situated in Sandown, with easy access to the main roads and in a quiet residential street. The apartment had everything that we needed for our stay, was immaculately clean, and had additional heating although this was not needed whilst we were there. Helpfully, there was information provided about places to visit on the Isle of Wight and we enjoyed our stay.
Very nicely decorated quirky apartment located in excellent location, used the bus service, ( Isle of wight has a very good bus service.) bus stop around the corner. If your not self catering there are plenty of nice places to eat. Annette is a perfect host, answered all our queries regarding staying in Ventnor and getting around.
Ryde
Very beautiful apartment with all facilities. It is actually bigger than looks in the picture. Very good location, from the Ryde ferry it is 5 min walk and all the bus stations to go anywhere in the isle of Wight are within 10min walk. There is Co-Op and Iceland shop within 5min walk so you can have all the stuff from there.
The location was excellent with fantastic views over Ventnor Beach Front from the apartment balcony. Parking was good right outside the apartment with allocated space. Within a short walk there are numerous places to eat and drink with good quality food. An excellent base to explore the whole of the Isle of Wight.
We have been in Isle of wight for 2 days. During our stay Karen helped us a lot and suggested too many things to do. Location was great, you can walk around and get a good coffee from a local cafe. It is a typical British Hotel which you may see in the movies.
Sandown

Shanklin
The Penthouse apartment is spacious, luxuriously appointed, immaculately clean and very well located as a base for a holiday in lovely Shanklin, or as we used it, a base from which to tour and enjoy the wonderful Isle of Wight.

We loved this apartment, very comfortable for a group of 4 adults. Will definitely come back next time when we are in the Isle of Wight.
The location was good for seeing all parts of the Isle of Wight. The hotel was very reasonably priced and the room spacious.
Bembridge

The Isle of Wight is delightful. The hotel is in a prime position in the town of Shanklin.
